Daniel Voin – the Product Specialist driving the development of chemical-free cleaning
As a product specialist at Sandberg Development’s water purification company SWATAB, Daniel Voin works with both the development of existing and new filtration systems as well as providing technical support to customers. As one of the two full-time employees at the company, no two workdays look the same for Daniel.
Daniel serves as both product specialist and technical support at SWATAB, but his role extends well beyond the title. He plays an active part in the company’s development efforts and, with previous experience from both industry and medical technology as a service engineer, has built a broad skill set. As part of his role, Daniel is also responsible for purchasing, inventory and invoicing.
Daniel’s day-to-day at SWATAB
SWATAB manufactures filtration systems that deionize water. The process makes the water “hungry,” meaning it effectively attracts dirt and impurities. The result is ultra-pure water that enables washing and cleaning at lower temperatures – completely without chemicals.
“The effect is particularly noticeable on glass, since the water doesn’t leave any streaks,” Daniel explains, who also uses SWATAB’s products at home.
In his day-to-day work, Daniel supports resellers with technical expertise while also being involved in product development, design improvements, and testing. One product SWATAB is currently developing is a microplastic filter for laundry. As many textiles today release microplastics, these can follow wastewater into treatment plants, where they are difficult to filter out. By capturing microplastics already in laundries or homes, SWATAB aims to reduce environmental impact, for the benefit of both people and nature.
Variety is a key part of Daniel’s daily work. One day he may be working in the warehouse or handling finance-related tasks; the next, he’s focused on product development.
“The best part of my job is the variety, along with the strong focus on development – getting to experiment and build things myself is incredibly exciting,” says Daniel.
Football, family, and friends
In his free time, Daniel enjoys spending time with family and friends. Football is a shared interest with his twin children, and while they were growing up, he was also actively involved as their coach. He is no longer a football coach for his kids, as they now play in higher divisions, but his passion for the sport remains. Whenever he gets the chance, he enjoys watching either his children’s matches or Malmö FF games from the stands.
