Thomas Olsson – SWATAB’s new CEO is ready for the next move
Thomas’s journey at SWATAB began in 2023 when he joined the company as a Regional Sales Manager for its water purification filtration systems. In May 2026, he took the next step as he assumed the role of CEO. With a clear focus on growth, a strong commitment to understanding customer needs, and a desire to highlight the long-term environmental benefits of SWATAB’s solutions, Thomas is looking forward to leading the company into its next phase.
Throughout his career, Thomas has worked extensively in sales. He has sold everything from IT systems and dental practice management software to learning platforms for schools. In recent years, his focus has been on SWATAB’s patented filtration systems, which purify water entirely without the use of chemicals. What particularly attracted him to the company was its clear purpose: contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable world through tangible environmental benefits.
When the time came to find a successor to former CEO Mats Marklund, Thomas saw an opportunity to take the next step in his career.
“SWATAB is a small company with low thresholds for decision-making and a high level of commitment. That is a major strength. Going forward, my primary focus will be to listen to our customers, understand their challenges, and continue building on the strong trust we have established,” says Thomas.
Responsiveness: A key for success
Understanding customer needs has been a common feature throughout Thomas’s career in sales. For him, success is built on a genuine interest in the customer, asking the right questions, and tailoring solutions to real-world needs.
“One of the growing challenges we see in water purification is microplastics that escape filtration systems and end up in wastewater infrastructure. To address this issue, SWATAB has developed a microplastic filter for washing machines that captures microplastics before they enter the sewage system,” says Thomas, who sees significant potential in the new product.
Golf, chess, and creating music
Outside of work, Thomas recharges through golf, chess, and music. He enjoys writing song lyrics and has even released some of his songs on Spotify. He also sees his passion for chess and strategic thinking as an asset in his new role as CEO.
“Chess is a highly strategic and creative game, and it benefits me in my work. Both business development and chess are about thinking several moves ahead while being prepared for the unexpected,” Thomas concludes.
