Building Sandberg Valley: from demolition to continued growth
Four years ago, I joined Sandberg Development as Facility Manager and stepped straight into a major construction project. The old Scan Coin premises were to be demolished to make way for a new headquarters.
The project was carried out together with a dedicated project team, while operations had to continue throughout the construction period. Rescue Intellitech and Swatab kept production running in the part of the production hall that remained, despite noise, construction dust and constant change. It required both patience and flexibility, and I have great respect for everyone who kept day-to-day operations running during that time.
We celebrated the milestones in true Sandberg spirit: with a “demolition party” when the demolition work was completed, and a topping-out ceremony once the building was weatherproof.
When the building comes to life
The new headquarters on Jägershillgatan opened in 2025. Today, the building is home to 170 employees from Sandberg Development, several subsidiaries and our own incubator operations.

Just ten months after moving in, production switched to three-shift operations, placing new demands on us in Facility Management. When facilities are in use around the clock, finding the right windows for service and maintenance is essential. Careful planning and close dialogue with the businesses are key. Our job is to support production without disrupting it.
But working hours are not the only thing changing. The businesses are growing and need more space, and we need to keep pace. It is a positive development, but also a very tangible challenge. That is why the Group acquired several properties around the headquarters during 2025 and 2026. Today, we own six properties, five of which are located along Jägershillgatan.
Making the whole picture work
Sandberg Valley spans more than 50,000 square metres, is home to around 500 employees and has developed into an innovation district where Aimpoint, Digital Training Systems, GAIM, AQVANCIA Group, Nordisk Clean Solutions and Rescue Intellitech, among others, have their headquarters.
For me, Facility Management is about making the whole picture work. It covers office, production and testing environments, but also parking, meeting spaces and services that need to work for people with different working hours. Our shared restaurant is an important part of that. It is a place where employees meet across company and departmental boundaries. Being able to pick up food to take home, work out at the gym and access other services at the workplace makes everyday life easier.
As the area grows, we want to preserve the close connections between people and companies. Our shared meeting places are an important part of the Sandberg spirit and help us stay connected even as we grow.
The development continues

Later this year, a new Experience Centre for Aimpoint will open, providing opportunities for training and corporate hospitality. Construction of a new parking garage is also planned to begin before the end of the year, and we have several other property projects at different stages of development. The new properties give us room to plan for the long term and the flexibility to respond as needs change.
Our businesses are developing rapidly, sometimes faster than we can build. That is why we need to create flexible premises that work both for today’s needs and for whatever comes next. The pace across the Group is high, and that is reflected in our own neighbourhood, where development never stands still. And that is exactly how we want it!
