Research donation from Sandberg Development for increased knowledge about water

In April 2024, Sandberg Development donated 100 million Swedish kronor, distributed over a 10-year period, to Malmö University.

The donation is directed to the Department of Biomedical Science and researchers active at the Biofilms Research Center for Biointerfaces. The investment will fund both basic and applied research in physical chemistry to promote the development of, among other things, new environmentally friendly materials that can rapidly degrade in water, optimized washing and cleaning methods that can reduce emissions and pollution in water, and protein-based drug preparations.
