Sandberg Development invests in Orbital Systems

Sandberg Development invests SEK 30 million in the Malmö-based water recycling technology Company Orbital Systems.

The investment will strengthen Orbital Systems in an intensive commercialization phase, and Sandberg Development will also, through Martin Jonsson, take a seat on the board.

Orbital Systems was founded in Lund in 2012 by the industrial designer Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, and has developed a concept for a water and energy saving shower system.

- Through our subsidiary GRANULDISK we have industrial experience from innovative solutions which economize on water and energy resources. We believe that our experience will contribute in the phase which Orbital Systems is in, says Martin Jonsson, President & CEO of Sandberg Development.

Since the start the development of Orbital Systems and the shower system has gone very fast, and this has been achieved through external capital acquisition. Among the owners are the Skype founder Niklas Zennström and the ecological food entrepreneur Peter Enberg. The company has more than 50 employees in Malmö, Sweden, and in Denmark and the USA.
